RADISHES OF THE WORLD
Radishes of the world I salute you!
Spherical knobs loosened from the womb of the planet
with tectonic forces they emerge
summoned by its Creator
With scratched and scabby surfaces
they are like pieces of turd thrown to the ground
Yet a knife exposes its inner beauty
Assassinate! And
hemispheres of exploding colors reveal itself
Radiating from its core throughout its crunchy flesh
Is a dirty yellow sun
Or a bloody punch
Or a swirl of cream and rose
Or a geometry of violet stripes
Or a canvas of white snow
Or a tie-dye of watermelon
Radishes, you are terribly sublime
You are nature’s elegance
in a dirty nugget
